Presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is calling on his millions of supporters to help him guard their votes as the May 9 election is fast approaching.
Reiterating his lack of financial capacity to pay for poll watchers all over the country, Duterte said he is relying the fate of the votes on volunteers.
Duterte admitted that he could not even afford to buy food and water for the volunteers that he urged them to bring their own food as well.

It is estimated that a presidential candidate would spend at least P1 billion for poll watchers fees and legal fees to safeguard his/votes during the election day.
There are 54,363,329 registered voters based on the Commission on Elections data as of December 2015 and 92,509 clustered precincts nationwide.
