Davao purchases additional P150M worth of new rescue equipments

The City Government of Davao has added P150 million worth of equipments and vehicles to their growing arsenal for search and rescue operations.

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte turned over the equipments to the Public Safety and Security Command Center and the Central 911 Tuesday afternoon. Among those turned over were Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) vehicles, ambulances, fire trucks, FERMS motorcycles ,rescue/ medical/ firemen gadgets, protective suits, equipment and several other necessary gears which were all imported from the suppliers of USA 911.

The City Government of Davao also introduced the first Acoustic Hailing Device in the country worth P2 million with the funds generated from the disaster and calamity fund of the city mayor.

AHDs are highly-directional speakers designed to focus sound in a narrow beam. AHDs are ideal for maritime hailing, bird and wildlife control, military operations, riots or huge unruly street demonstrations and infrastructure protection.
