President Benigno Simeon Aquino III is expected to attend the Philippines Development Forum on Bangsamoro slated here in Davao City on November 5 and 6.
Unlike the previous PDF’s, this week’s event will mainly focus on the Bangsamoro Development Plan which contains projects and programs meant to improve the social and economic conditions, and unleash the potentials of Bangsamoro areas.
Aquino would arrive on November 6 and deliver a speech. Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan, Budget Secrtary Florencio Abad, Sec. Teresita Deles, representatives from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and the Bangsamoro Development Agency would also be doing presentation during the whole day event.
The PDF is the primary mechanism of the Government for facilitating substantive policy dialogue among stakeholders on the country’s development agenda. The Forum also serves as a process for developing consensus and generating commitments among different stakeholders toward critical actionable items of the Government’s reform agenda.
The last PDF formal meeting was held on February 4-5, 2013 in Davao City where Motoo Konishi, Country Director of World Bank, then declared that the Philippines is no longer the sick man of East Asia, but the rising tiger.
